The #6 James Madison football team won 32-7 at Rhode Island in their CAA opener Saturday.
Senior quarterback Justin Thorpe had the first 300-yard game of his career, as he completed 26-of-40 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns.
"When you're in the game, you don't really think about it," says Thorpe. "I did notice we were passing the ball a lot. I was just trying to make completions. I didn't know I had 40 passes, though."
Renard Robinson led the Dukes with 87 yards receiving and a touchdown.
JMU is off next week, before returning to action October 6th against defending conference champion Towson.
