The Charlottesville and University of Virginia Symphony Orchestra is kicking off its fall season on Sunday with a "Concert Under the Stars". The orchestra features UVA students, faculty, and members of the Charlottesville community.
This season's theme is "Let's Dance." On Sunday the orchestra will play the can-can, a hoedown, Broadway tunes and a tango.
UVA Music Director Kate Tamarkin said, "They say that all music is either song or dance and we're definitely leaning toward the dancing tonight and I would be so happy if there were spontaneous flash mob dancing from the crowd."
The concert was originally scheduled for Saturday, but will now be held on Sunday because of a chance of rain. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. at the UVA Amphitheater.
