Albemarle Supervisors Discuss Economy & Strategic Plan
The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors met Friday afternoon to take a look at the county economy and put some goals in place.
The board put together a strategic plan, pointing to specific tasks to focus on. Several tasks included partnering more efficiently with the University of Virginia, filling gaps in the workforce and deciding where money needs to go.
Albemarle County Supervisor Rodney Thomas says he was happy to see the local economy doing so well. "We saw the big, big picture and then it came down to the state and we could see the regions, the areas, and how their economies are doing and then it came to us, and of course we're fortunate," he said.
They also took a look at capital improvement projects at Friday's meeting. Supervisors are considering a bond referendum to put those project decisions in the hands of voters.
