Thursday Night High School Sports and Highlights

The Western Albemarle field hockey team picked up its first win of the season, and handed Charlottesville its first loss, as the Warriors beat the Knights 2-1 Thursday at CHS.

The WAHS volleyball team swept Charlottesville three games to none, while Monticello wrapped up a seven-game homestand with a narrow victory against Powhatan Thursday.

The Mustangs won the first two games 25-23 and 25-14.

They lost the next two 12-25 and 11-25, but came back to take the third 15-11.

The Covenant boys soccer team beat Hargrave Military Academy 5-0.
