The NBC 29 Kroger Tailgate Party will be on the road at Louisa County High School September 21, 2012 right before the Lions welcome Monticello into The Jungle.
The match-up will be the first district game of the season for both teams.
Louisa comes into the showdown with a 2-2 record, after beating Spotsylvania 42-7 September 14.
The Mustangs are a perfect 3-0, and will be playing their third road game of the season.
This has been a very even match-up with both schools splitting the last six meetings.
Monticello won a 41-37 shootout last year, and head coach Rodney Redd said his team will face another tough challenge Friday.
Redd says, "I'm expecting a well coached aggressive football team. They generally get after you on defense. I expect a very hostile environment. The Jungle is a great place for high school football, second to none in the state."
Mustangs senior offensive lineman Sam Marshall expects a frenzied attack from the Lions this year.
Marshall says, "Louisa's head coach he used to be the defensive coordinator. I mean he just loves the [physical game]. He's always got blitz packages coming at you and they're taught the same way we are: To just be physical and be aggressive."
Monticello and Louisa kick off September 21 at 7:30 in Mineral.
