UVa's Caroline Miller Named National Player of the Week

UVA Women's Soccer star Caroline Miller has been named the Disney Soccer/NSCAA Player of the Week by the National Soccer Coaches Association.

The senior forward had both goals in Virginia's 2-2 tie against 6th ranked North Carolina on Saturday, September 15, 2012. In Virginia's 4-0 win over N.C. State on Thursday, September 13, 2012, Miller scored twice in a span of 86 seconds of the second half for her first multi-goal game of the season. She is the first Cavalier since Angela Hucles in 1996 to score twice in consecutive ACC games.

Miller is now tied for ninth on Virginia's "Top Ten" career goal list with 32 goals during her tenure at UVA. Of her eight career multi-goal games, five have been against conference opponents and four have been against top -10 competition.

This is the second career national player of the week honor Miller's received. She earned the accolade from TopDrawerSoccer.com during her freshman season in 2009.

Miller and the Number 5 Cavaliers take on Clemson Sunday at Historic Riggs Field at 1 p.m.
