Waynesboro has won an award for its economic development website. The Southern Economic Development Council chose Waynesboro's website as best of class.
The city's economic director, Greg Hitchin, says the website aims to help area businesses as well as people looking to possibly expand in Waynesboro. It offers information on incentives and demographics including maps.
"We think it's colorful. We think it's easy to read. Lots of descriptive titles. Lots of pages with just a little bit of information on them, so they don't need to read a lot to find out what they're looking for. They can kind of scan through the titles and pick what they want and get the information quickly," said Hitchin.
The website also has an interactive real estate database.
