Monday morning people who live in the Crescent Halls apartment complex in Charlottesville raised a new American flag.
The former flag was so old most of its color had faded, and it was so torn and frayed, it flapped two different ways in the wind. Monday's flag raising ceremony was dedicated to the veterans who call Crescent Halls home.
"Oh I got all mushy inside. It means a lot to these veterans," Crescent Halls Resident Association President Mary Carey said.
James Stephens, a Vietnam War veteran, said, "It's nice, you know, I have something like the new flag to remember different wars by."
Members of the American Foreign Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars were on hand for the presentation of the new flag.
