'Celebrate My Drive' Teaches Teens About Dangers of Texting and Driving

State Farm Insurance wants teens to understand the dangers of texting behind the wheel. The "Celebrate My Drive" event was held at Fashion Square Mall Saturday morning to get that message across to young drivers.

The agency is celebrating millions of new drivers, but is also reminding them to stay safe on the roads. Agents asked teens about driving statistics and handed out informational flyers.

State Farm agent Lauren Morris said, "One of the questions is statistically the dangers of drinking and driving versus texting. We really want to make sure that teenagers are aware that when they're texting, it's just as dangerous as drinking and driving."

Teens also had the chance to win a new car. State Farm agents say crashes are the number one killer of teenagers.
