Habitat to Celebrate First Phase of Sunrise Community with Block Party

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville is getting ready for a big block party. Next Saturday, the organization will celebrate the completion of the first phase of the Sunrise Community.

The project is the first in the nation to transform a mobile home development into a mixed-income residential building. Several Habitat homes have been built in the same area.

Sara Parrish with Habitat for Humanity said, "We want to thank all of our volunteers, our supporters, our donors, anyone who's helped make Sunrise Phase 1 happen."

The block party will include live music and children's activities. The event runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sunrise Park at 1400 Carlton Avenue.
