UVA Marching Band Launches Fundraising Campaign - NBC29 WVIR Charlottesville, VA News, Sports and Weather

The Cavalier Marching Band hosted a tailgate at Carr's Hill Field to launch a fundraising campaign before the University of Virginia took on Penn State Saturday.

Moonbounces, slides and giveaways played a part in the official launch of the, "Marching Into the Future Campaign." The effort raises funds to provide scholarships and maintain uniforms and instruments for the band.

Campaign Organizer Erin Hall said, "We had over 500 band fan and family members here. We're really pleased by the show of support and hope this gives us some good momentum. "

Money donated will also help with travel expenses so band members can make it to away and bowl games. The pregame tailgate was free and open to the public
