Republicans in Augusta County are gearing up for Election Day by celebrating the grand opening of a GOP headquarters in the heart of Staunton. Cheers and a ribbon cutting kicked off the grand opening of the Augusta County Staunton GOP headquarters on Saturday.

Augusta County Republican Committee Chairman Bill Shirley said, "It's a signal across the valley that we're open for business."

Virginia's 20th District Delegate Richard "Dickie" Bell says the excitement created by the grand opening is the momentum Virginia needs behind the Republican ticket. "They need to know that there are other people who think the same way they do, who feel the same way they do, and they are willing to work," he said.

Augusta County Republicans hope this office will get more people in the valley to cast a vote for Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and U.S. Senate candidate George Allen.

Staunton Republican Committee Chairman Matt Fitzgerald said, "It's a time for all of us to do some soul searching about what we really feel is important for our economy, our future, our children our grandchildren."

To those at the grand opening Saturday, the office signifies change and a shot at turning Virginia red.

Shirley said, "We have an opportunity to stand for freedom, we have an opportunity to restore what the founders established."

The office is located at the corner of Statler Boulevard and Richmond Road in Staunton. It will be open Wednesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 to 2:00 p.m.
