The fighting Leeman and their visitors now have a place to get ready for their games at Robert E. Lee High School in Staunton. City and school officials cut the ribbon Friday night on the Field House at Memorial Stadium.
The Citizens Field House Committee has spent the past 18 months raising more than $100,000 from the community as well as countless people volunteering their time and labor.
Dan Baxley with the Citizens Field House Committee said, "The guys are going 'Wow it's air conditioned. We've never had anything this nice.' The kids... athletes just really love it. Everybody's walking through and their eyes are just popping."
The facility includes locker rooms, a training room, and a space for the referees to relax.
