A film company in Charlottesville is about to celebrate another year of award-winning student work. The 11th annual Light House Youth Film Festival took over the Jefferson Theatre Friday night.
Light House Studio focuses on helping kids across central Virginia create hundreds of documentary, drama, and animated films.
Jason Robinson with Light House Studio said, "It's a unique event not just for Charlottesville but for the East Coast, there [are] not a lot of youth media centers in the country that are doing what we're doing - that are empowering young people to express themselves through video."
Ten different films will air Friday night and a majority of those will be world premieres. The show kicked off at 6:30 at the Jefferson Theatre on the downtown mall.
