JMU Looks to Continue Strong Start

Posted: Updated:

The James Madison football team will be back at home again this week, as the Dukes take on Alcorn State Saturday night.

5th-ranked JMU is 1-0 on the season, after blowing out St. Francis 55-7 last week.

Madison posted 602 yards of total offense in the win, the third-highest total in program history.

They ran for 377 yards on the ground, and four different players rushed for at least 50 yards in the season opener at Bridgeforth Stadium.

Head coach Mickey Matthews says, "We have been very strong with our players that we wanted to really play well these first two games. We feel like we have one game down, and played very well, and have one more to go."

JMU and Alcorn State kick-off Saturday at six o'clock in Harrisonburg.
