The Charlottesville School Board met Thursday night to share the improvements made to area schools over the summer.
Improvements include that city school meals this year will reflect the new United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards, and all bus drivers are now trained in CPR.
The schools are also more popular than ever. Enrollment at Charlottesville schools is 55 students above projections, and Burley-Moran Elementary School has its largest kindergarten class in at least 20 years.
The next community school board meeting is set for October 18 at Clark Elementary.
