The man accused of stealing a car with two young children inside now faces additional charges.
Jerimiah Scott Martin, 35, faces a total of nine counts, including car theft, child endangerment, and fourth-offense driving under the influence (DUI).
The Augusta County Sheriff's Office says Martin took a SUV from a Shell gas station in Weyers Cave Tuesday night, with a 2-year-old child and a 1-month old baby inside. Their father was inside the store, and had left the keys in the ignition.
After a brief chase reaching 100 miles an hour, deputies say Martin abandoned the car, and was quickly arrested. The children were not hurt.
