University of Virginia Hope Cancer Care in Fishersville has a new location and a new name.
UVA Hope Cancer Care Augusta was formerly a private practice housed at Augusta Health. Now that same group of doctors is right across the street at the UVA Medical Park.
Doctors say some benefits to the change are the beautiful vistas as well as access to the newest treatments and clinical trials. But something they say hasn't changed is the care.
Maya Ghaemmaghami, an oncologist, said, "We still have the same nurses, the support staff, the same physicians. So people they've come to rely on over the years will still be the people who are going to take care of them."
Doctors say that patients will still be able to use the hospital that is most convenient for them. Click here for more information.
