Staunton Man Changes Plea to Guilty in Carnal Knowledge Case

Posted: Updated:

The jury trial of a Staunton man facing carnal knowledge charges came to a halt Tuesday morning.

Benjamin Everett Brown II, 19, was standing trial on three felony counts.  The alleged victim was a 14-year-old girl, who testified that she had a series of sexual encounters with Brown last fall at a Staunton park.

Brown had pleaded not guilty, but changed his plea after the jury heard the prosecution's case.  He will be sentenced at a later date, and faces up to 30 years.
