Some volunteers in central Virginia are on their way to the Gulf Coast to lend a hand to Hurricane Isaac victims.
More than 31 people from central Virginia have joined 3,000 plus Red Cross volunteers over the past two weeks. And now, seven more people are heading south this weekend to assist displaced hurricane victims in places like Montgomery, Alabama.
Jack Jones with Red Cross Disaster Services said, "Folks that volunteer generally go out for two weeks, up to as many as three to four weeks. I think this is going to be going on for a while, so as volunteers come back, other volunteers will step up to replace them."
