U.S. Senate candidate and former Virginia Governor Tim Kaine made a campaign visit to the University of Virginia to talk with students as they celebrated their first football game of season on Saturday.
Kaine visited with young Democrats at UVA before heading to the game. He says students will play an important role in keeping Virginia blue and he hopes his stop pushes students to the polls.
"Having their help is really important. The president was here Wednesday. Having student engagement is going to be incredibly important in our success, but this is a good place to start off the homestretch," said Kaine.
Next, the U.S. Senate candidate will head Charlotte, North Carolina to speak at this year's Democratic National Convention, which kicks off Monday.
