Decades-old retail space in downtown Staunton has a new life as "destination shopping." The Staunton Antiques Center will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday.
Originally built as a McRory's five-and-dime, the building on West Beverley Street will have three dozen antiques dealers. They'll offer everything from furniture and furnishings to jewelry and collectibles.
Bruce Joffe with Staunton Antiques Center said, "Our dealers have referred other dealers. The quality of the antiques and collectibles mall is dependent upon the quality of its dealers, and we have phenomenal dealers with extraordinary merchandise."
The Staunton Antiques Center had originally planned to open in phases, but it's already close to full and has a waiting list of dealers wanting to set up shop.
