The 16th ranked Virginia Tech football team will host Georgia Tech in their season opener Monday night.
The Hokies' defense has the big challenge of facing the Yellow Jackets' triple-option offense right off the bat.
VaTech head coach Frank Beamer says it helps that his team has had extra time to prepare.
Virginia Tech's defense should be one of the best units in the country, and they say stopping the Yellow Jackets run game is top priority.
"They're an offense where they like to go for it on 4th down," says Beamer. "They like to control the ball. There's only going to be so many possessions in a ballgame. Patience. You just got to hang in there and keep playing hard. That's the way you got to operate."
Cornerback Kyle Fuller says, "It's a very physical game. They try to run it, and get some passes in there. It's a lot of downhill running, and guys in the trenches fighting. That's what this game is every year."
