The Charlottesville Ronald McDonald House is celebrating a much-needed gift.
Princess Anne Development has donated property to the organization. The extra space, which is adjacent to the organization's existing property, will allow more families to stay together near the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Ronald McDonald House Charities provides temporary housing for families as they receive treatment for their seriously ill children.
Rita Ralston of the Ronald McDonald House said, "Right now, we're going to proceed into the renovation of the current house and that will actually net us an additional bedroom through that process, which will actually be a huge help. And then we'll start drawing plans for the expansion."
There are currently 18 families staying in the Charlottesville Ronald McDonald House.
