Martha Jefferson Hospital switched locations one year ago Tuesday and the anniversary is cause for celebration.
The staff says the new building is equipped with better technology, and is more spacious and comfortable. There are even rooms available for future expansion projects.
One year ago, every patient was moved to the new hospital in under four hours, without a lapse in care.
Mina Ford with Martha Jefferson Hospital said, "When we designed this hospital, we tried to look forward to the future of other technology and things that we may need in order to expand, and move the way health care changes and I think we did a good job planning for that."
Tuesday evening, the staff is continuing their celebration by throwing a birthday party for Alex, the first baby born in the new hospital.
