An Augusta County home has been heavily damaged by fire. The blaze broke out shortly before 9:00 Tuesday morning on Eastside Highway near Dooms.
No one was inside at the time of the fire. The homeowner, William Woehr, says he was driving home at the time and thought a neighbor was burning brush until he got close enough to see his house on fire.
The worst damage is in the front of the house. The house sustained at least $50,000 damage, most of it to the living room.
Firefighters say a window air conditioning unit may be to blame.
