A group dedicated to providing services to anyone affected by AIDS or HIV says they aren't hiding out in back of a Charlottesville building anymore. Instead, the AIDS Services Group (ASG) is fending off stigmas tied to these deadly diseases by making their presence known.
The group is saying goodbye to their location in the back of the Ix Building and moving into their new home on 10th and Jefferson.
ASG Executive Director Peter Demartini said, "People can come in and not be seen, and I think for the first time in our 25-year history we're saying that's not right."
ASG serves more than 1,400 people in central Virginia. They hope the move helps them fight the deadly disease by not sweeping their location under the rug.
