Members of the Democratic Party are celebrating the grand opening of their new office at the Willow Oaks Plaza in Waynesboro.
About 40 people rallied support for the Democratic ticket on Saturday. The chairman of the Democratic Party of Virginia, Brian Moran, says mobilizing the campaign and getting volunteers together under one roof will propel Democrats in November's election.
He spoke to the crowd about the differences between the presumptive Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, and President Barack Obama.
Moran says Obama is working to "improve our economy, protect our seniors, invest in education that's so vitally important in this area with the presence of the University of Virginia here. So all of those issues should resonate here in Waynesboro."
Next Saturday at 5 p.m. Andy Schmookler, who is running for congress in the 6th District will be stopping by the new office.
