The Democrat vying to unseat 5th District Congressman Robert Hurt says he regrets a recent incident where he swatted his opponent's cameraman.
John Douglass stopped in Albemarle County Friday night to rally supporters. In the 8 second video from Tuesday night, Douglass can be seen swatting at the lens of a camera, which belonged to a Hurt campaign staffer.
"We regret that these things happen, but you know, it was a situation where we were trying to keep him out of a private conversation and it was one of his trackers, and that lady wanted to talk to me about some private issues," said Douglass.
Trackers are commonly used by campaigns to keep tabs on what opponents are doing and saying. Douglass says his campaign also uses them.
