Albemarle School Board Approves $56M Budget Request
The Albemarle County School Board has decided on its top priorities for projects it would like to get some funding for.
Thursday night, the school board approved a $56 million budget request. It's all part of the capital improvement program for the next five years.
At the top of the list is moving students from Murray High School out of their trailers and into an actual building. Other proposed projects include additions to schools and basic maintenance.
Albemarle County Public Schools Chief Operating Officer Josh Davis said, "We believe that the board of supervisors will consider those projects, along with all other county needs to make good decisions about the capital investments for the county's near future."
County supervisors are expected to decide which projects will be funded in the spring.
