Keeping senior citizens safe in their own home was the topic of discussion at a forum Thursday night in Charlottesville.
The Jefferson Area Board for Aging (JABA) hosted a small group to discuss ways to keep independent seniors from getting into trouble. They discussed topics ranging from how to tie your shoes to making sure the stove isn't left on.
Jennifer Koeniger with Care Advantage Plus said, "That's often a concern that we find with many families or caregivers is, when the caregiver isn't there with them, is there loved one safe and comfortable at home?"
The talk was the first in a monthly series. On September 20, JABA will host a talk on legal issues for seniors. Call 434-973-2000 to RSVP.
