Waynesboro will host the premiere of a new movie filmed entirely in the Shenandoah Valley.
A private screening Thursday afternoon offered a sneak peek at "The Name on the Bullet." Waynesboro-based Alpha Vision Films wrote, directed and produced the movie
It was shot on location at the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton. The film's creator calls it a "revisionist western."
"It's a rethinking of the tale of one of the most legendary personalities of the American frontier," said James Overton with Alpha Vision Films. "Our supposition is that it didn't happen the way the history books have presented it all these years."
"The Name on the Bullet" premieres Monday night in the Gateway Theater in downtown Waynesboro. Alpha Vision Films also plans to submit it to the Virginia Film Festival.
