UVA Receives SWANA Bronze Excellence Award for Recycling

A new award has the University of Virginia trading in its colors for the green variety.  The university recently racked up another award for its recycling efforts, its second award in less than a year.

The Solid Waste Association of America recognized UVA last Tuesday with its Bronze Excellence Award.

The state of Virginia requires agencies to recycle at least 25 percent of their waste.  UVA almost doubled that amount in 2011.
