Charlottesville police have arrested a man following a robbery Tuesday afternoon at the Belmont Market in Charlottesville.

Police charged 28-year-old James Jamel Edge of Newport News with armed robbery.

The cashier at Belmont Market said a man came into the store just before 4:00 with a gun and demanded money. The cashier gave him what was in the register, which police say was an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect ran off.

Shortly after, police arrested Edge on the 1100 block of Druid Avenue in Charlottesville. Detectives are still working the scene. No injuries were reported.
