Two groups in Charlottesville are giving back to get kids excited before they head back to school.
Helping Young People Evolve or HYPE and the Providence Group of Virginia held a "Back to School Bash" in Tonsler Park. About 100 kids had the chance to swing by and pick up backpacks fully loaded with supplies to put to use during the upcoming school year.
Corbin Hargraves with the Providence Group said, "Kids need to have the excitement about education, going back to school and knowing that it is key. It's critical to surviving in this economy. We all know how tough times are and it's just – it's important to us."
Charlottesville High School was one of the bigger donors that contributed to the third annual bash.
