Administrators at Fluvanna County schools are buckling down after new bus routes caused some chaos during this first week of school.
Many concerned Fluvanna County parents contacted us this week, frustrated by new bus routes. Some said it took their child much longer to get home than normal, in some cases as much as three hours after school let out.
Fluvanna County school administrators checked in on the progress Thursday morning and are now on a quest to find solutions. The county is in the process of moving some students around to address overcrowding. It also plans to change some problematic bus stops.
The goal is to have the issue resolved by the end of this week, after students and drivers have more time to get used to this year's changes. Operations manager Tom Patrick says the district will continue evaluating problems as they arise.
Earlier this week Patrick said he does not believe recent budget cuts in Fluvanna are a factor in the delays.
