A back-to-school book sale at the Booker T. Washington Community Center in Staunton is helping two good causes.
It offers hundreds of children's books that were donated by a reading specialist, who recently retired from Staunton schools. They are available at bargain prices to kids and teachers who need them most.
Proceeds from the sale benefit the annual "All-Girl Conference."
Makeba Robinson, a supervisor at the community center said, "It's workshops, it's speakers, it's informational booths. The purpose of that is to connect them to community resources, and connect them with positive role models in the community."
The sale officially ends at 6:00 Wednesday evening but the books will still be available for several more days. They are inside the community center on west Johnson Street in Staunton.
