TJPDC Questionnaire Identifies Community Priorities
We now know what some of the top priorities are for people who live in Charlottesville and Albemarle County.
Wednesday, the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) released some data from an online survey called the "Community Priorities Questionnaire." Participants were asked to rank the top 10 issues that are important to them, out of a list of about 50.
On top of the list was limiting development in rural areas, followed by items such as improving bike facilities and promoting small business development.
TJPDC Director Stephen Williams said, "There are many, many issues that are being addressed by Charlottesville and Albemarle County as they update their comprehensive plans, and it's important for the planning commissioners and our elected officials to have a feeling for which of those meaningful issues are most important to the people of the city and the county."
The planning district is in the process of analyzing the data and producing a report. This information will be presented to both the city and county planning commissions sometime in September.
