The University of Virginia Board of Visitors will meet this week for the first time since UVA President Teresa Sullivan was reinstated.
The board will hold its annual retreat in Richmond. The two-day event will start on Wednesday. Board members will spend time talking about what their role is heading into a change of leadership.
President Sullivan will also be attending the retreat, and will present her report to the board on Thursday.
Ahead of the retreat, Sullivan received a letter from the deans of all 11 schools and the university library, along with Executive Vice President and Provost John Simon.
According to UVA, the letter "identifies goals and lays out a process by which UVA can map out the best route ahead." It also addresses the strained relationship between the state government and UVA, as well as the board of visitors and the academic and executive leadership of the university since the ouster of Sullivan.
President Sullivan has since sent the letter to all of the board members. A facilitator will be at the retreat to moderate the discussions.
