Albemarle Schools to Host Back to School Festival

Posted: Updated:

As many as 500-600 people are expected to show up for Albemarle County's Back to School Festival on Tuesday.

Teachers and staff from Monticello High School, Burley Middle School, Walton Middle School, and Cale Elementary will be a part of a meet and greet at the Southwood Community Center.

Albemarle County Public Schools Assistant Superintendent Billy Haun says it's a great way to get students and parents excited about the school year.

"It's just a great community event for the school staff and the parents and the students in this community to get together and [get] to know each other as we begin a new school year," he said.

The event runs from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and will include a cookout.
