On Saturday, hundreds of people packed downtown Orange for the first Edible Food Festival.
The event is a celebration of clean eating and what organizers call the "earth to table" movement. People could attend a demonstration from regional chefs and learn about farming and sustainability.
Jeff Curtis, the executive director of the Orange Downtown Alliance, said planners wanted to showcase Orange's rich agricultural environment.
"The crowd you see really typifies the earth to table movement you see across the United States…[It] is just really encouraging that we're on the right track," he said.
Curtis says this will become an annual event. There was also a premiere of a documentary on the life of Orange culinary legend Edna Lewis.
