Posted: Updated:

Two families displaced by a fire last Sunday cannot return home just yet.

Workers were busy gutting units and throwing away debris Saturday after flames broke out at the Abbington Crossing Apartment Complex on August 5.

The fire happened around 8:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Old Brook Road. There was a significant amount of water damage.

Albemarle County Fire Officials believe it was an accidental fire.

There is no official word as to when the people who live there can return home.
