The first ever Edible Food Festival starts Saturday in Orange County, and it's all about the earth to table fresh food movement.
One of the main parts of the festival is a documentary screening about Orange County chef Edna Lewis, "The Edna Lewis Story".
Lewis was known as the "grande dame of southern cooking" and her cookbooks are well known across the country. The filmmaker, Phil Audibert, said that Lewis was influential in the fresh food movement way before it was popular.
"She was preaching about earth to table, farm to table, eat local, grow local, go organic...all those catch phrases, she was preaching that back in the 1970s when we were all eating TV dinners," he said.
The Edible Food Festival starts at 11:00 Saturday morning in downtown Orange.
