Traffic Alert: Milling and Paving May Cause JPA and Preston Delays

City of Charlottesville Press Release

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The City of Charlottesville Department of Public Works will be milling and paving the following roadways:  

Jefferson Park Avenue  (Eastbound lane, between Oakhurst Circle and Brandon Ave.) 

• Milling, beginning this Thursday night (8/9) at 7pm, scheduled for completion by 7am Friday morning (8/10).
• Paving, beginning this Sunday night(8/12) at 7pm, and scheduled for completion by 7am Monday morning(8/13). 

Preston Avenue  (East and westbound lanes, between Harris St. and 10th St. NW) 

• Milling and Paving, beginning this Sunday night (8/19) between 7pm and 7am.
• Milling and Paving operations will continue each night (7pm through 7am) until completed.
• Completion estimated by 7am Thursday (8/23). 

During work periods traffic will be maintained in both directions, but minor delays can be expected. During the time period between the milling and paving processes, uneven lane signs will be posted.
