The Penn State football team has lost another recruit. This time its the University of Virginia who's the beneficiary. The 'Hoos got a verbal commitment today for the class of 2013 from 3-star linebacker and wide receiver Zach Bradshaw who had decommitted from Penn State earlier today. Bradshaw is the fourth Penn State recruit to decommit since harsh sanctions were handed down on the Nittany Lion football program.
Fork Union quarterback Christian Hackenberg told me tonight that he is still a firm commitment to Penn state although he does say he has a plan B and a plan C if things get worse.
Hackenberg is ranked as the number one high school quarterback in the country according to ESPN and is rated a 4-star prospect.
I asked Hackenberg about the newest Penn State recruit decommiting and coming to UVa.
Hackenberg says, "They're doing what they feel is best for them. I know that I chose Penn State for the right reasons. That's a big thing. You've got to have guys around you, so I'm just going to see how that plays out throughout the process of the season. Ultimately, at the end of the day, every reason why I committed to Penn State is still there: the academics, the social life there. It's really what makes it the ultimate experience."
Hackenberg was the first player to commit to Penn State's 2013 class back in February.
