Hecker Deemed Incompetent to Stand Trial

The man accused of threatening to kill President Barack Obama from a Waynesboro library will not go to trial, for now.

Investigators say Hecker used a terminal at the Waynesboro Public Library to email some of his threats in late April.

A federal judge says 39-year-old Christopher Hecker is not competent to stand trial. The details of his mental health evaluation have been sealed.

Hecker will be committed for up to four months for treatment. Then the judge will re-evaluate the case and if it can move forward.
