A political sign from Charlottesville
is in the running to be Virginia's top endangered artifact.
The program is designed to
create awareness of the importance of preserving artifacts throughout the
state.
The national political
rally sign from the 1870s is on display at the Albemarle Charlottesville
Historical Society and has a chance of being voted into the top 10.
Steven Meeks with Albemarle
Charlottesville Historical Society said, "It had a political meaning, I
think the Republican Party was in power at that time and this was done in
protest to the Republican leadership at that time."
