The backyard of a preschool in Albemarle County was sprinkled with games, prizes, and junk food Wednesday as 4-year-olds got a chance to spend quality time with a new group of friends.
Students from Shining Star Preschool got to meet up with their friends from the Jefferson Area Board for Aging for what was called ‘a day at the fair'.
JABA members and 20 pre-school students took part in their version of the Albemarle County Fair. Kids were given 10 tickets to play a variety of games and get their faces painted alongside their new friends.
JABA Program Coordinator Lauren Catlett said, "Its really beneficial to for the elders to get the energy from the children and the children enjoy being with the elders, elders can help them."
JABA says this may become an annual event.
The actual Albemarle County Fair kicks off Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at the grounds of Ash Lawn-Highland.
