Power is restored to thousands of customers along 5th Street in Charlottesville who were without it for a while early Wednesday morning.
A dispatcher with Charlottesville-Albemarle Emergency Communications Center said a transformer may have blown around 12:30 a.m. A storm was in the area at the time, but authorities are not sure if that caused the incident.
About 3:00 a.m., Dominion Power's website reported more than 2,000 customers without electricity in the area. E.C.C. dispatch said the outages stretched from Bent Creek Road to Main Street.
The website showed all power was restored to the area around 7:00 a.m.
