VSP Believes Fatigue Played Role in Rt. 230 Fatal Accident

Posted: Updated:

Virginia State Police say tired driving appears to be the cause of a Saturday morning car crash that killed a Madison County man.

The accident happened around 2:40 Saturday morning on Route 230 (Orange Road) just west of George James Loop, near Radiant.

Police say 21-year-old Joseph Adams Jr. was driving on Route 230 when he lost control of his Ford Taurus, slammed into a tree, and flipped down an embankment.

Troopers say Adams was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.  They believe fatigue played a part in the accident.
